Hai Kang Seafood Restaurant (Greenhills): Amazing Chinese Dishes

Hai Kang Seafood Restaurant (Greenhills): Amazing Chinese Dishes

If you are bored with the usual food served in local Chinese restaurants, go to Hai Kang Seafood Restaurant and try out their newly developed exciting dishes that will make you start craving for more.

Hai Kang 4 Kinds Hot Cuts (Large - Php 1,500)

I love how Hai Kang tweaked their appetizers. Instead of serving cold cuts, they are offering 4 kinds of savory samplers.

Hai Kang's Hot Chicken Salad

Sweet and Sour Spareribs, Prawns with Veggies, Spiced Crispy Squid

This starter was already a meal in itself - so good!

Hai Kang's Prawn Laksa with Fried Mantou (Php 180 per piece)

WOW!!! This was ahmeyzing. Laksa in a Chinese restaurant? Why not?! By the way, this is not yet on their menu; but, you can order it to know how delectable this is. Don't worry, Hai Kang Seafood Restaurant serves this per piece, together with a fried mantou on the side. ORDERING THIS IS A MUST.

Fried Tao-Pe (Beancurd) Roll with Country-Style Sauce (Large - Php 800)

Hai Kang's Fried Beancurd Roll

It was stuffed with minced pork wrapped in fried beancurd skin, served with a creamy shrimp and potato sauce. The taste reminded me of Ylang-Ylang's Diok Pit He. Yummy :)

Hai Kang Seafood Restaurant's Kalabasa Seafood Soup (Large - Php 1,000)

Pumpkin soups are usually served plain or with sour cream topped with a dash of crushed black pepper. Here in Hai Kang Seafood Restaurant, they made the soup look more interesting and flavorful by adding quite a good amount of seafood - shrimps, squids, clams, crab sticks, scallops and fish. This is perfect for the little picky eaters :)

Steamed Eel with Lotus Leaves Rice (Php 1,800 per kilo)

If you fancy a gourmet fried rice, Hai Kang Seafood Restaurant prepared something special for you - freshwater eel and chorizo mixed in white rice with taosi sauce. The aroma of the lotus leaves on the rice was heavenly with the savory feast.

Egg White with Seafood (Large - Php 1,200)

Hai Kang's Egg White Seafood Salad

Who would've thought that egg white can be so good? I choose egg yolk over the egg white all the time but this dish made me think twice now. When Hai Kang mixed the egg whites with shredded seafood and pork floss, they created a masterpiece worthy of that special spot on the menu.

Fried Soft-Shell Crab with Salt and Pepper (Large - Php 1,200)

I must admit that this is by far my favorite, a very close race to my heart with the prawn laksa. Fried and crispy soft-shell crabs + Salt and Pepper + Salted Egg = ♥♥♥
No words can ever describe how I adore this dish. I can eat the whole order by myself and not worry about cholesterol and stuff. That's how much I love Hai Kang's soft shell crab dish.

Udon Noodles with Seafood Sate Sauce (Large - Php 700)

This is very much like Japanese restaurant's seafood yakiudon  - only way better with the sate sauce :)

Fried Masachi Balls (Php 80, 4 pieces)

Hot Black Sesame Seed Dumpling Soup (Large – Php 500)

Say hello to new dessert alternatives:

Instead of the usual mango sago, why not have Hai Kang's sweet black sesame seed soup with sticky balls surprise? Also, you might prefer fried masachi balls over butchi. These might just give you that much needed satisfaction.

Chez Karine - "At Karen's Place" (Serendra, The Fort)

Chez Karine - "At Karen's Place" (Serendra, The Fort)

Have you tried the newest dessert place in Fort Bonifacio?

Chez Karine, pronouced as "shey kuh-reen," basically means "at Karen's place."

Chef Karen Yang, the brilliant pastry chef and owner of Chez Karine

"It's a Japanese-inspired French patisserie that offers freshly made pastries, made from scratch, daily."

The place has a whimsical, fun and playful feel to it. It even shows in their to go boxes - so cute!

If you want to just hang out and have a cup of coffee or tea, Chez Karine is the place to be.

Muscovado Latte (Php 105)

Cappucino (Php 95)

Matcha Latte (Php 120)

However, I think most people come here not for the coffee nor tea, but for the puddings, cakes and macarons.

Chez Karine Panna Cotta (Php 100)

The classic Italian desserts were very light and creamy which went really well with the fruity syrup.

My personal picks: strawberry panna cotta and mango panna cotta :)

Chez Karine Royal Pudding (Php 100)

FYI: You can take these cute Chez Karine bottles home. (They had it custom-made in Taiwan)

I have always loved Japanese desserts because they're not too sweet that's why I got really excited to try Chez Karine's vanilla pudding. It was like Japanese leche flan in a bottle - just the right sweetness :) I also loved the chocolate pudding - yummy with the super light caramel syrup. ♥

The macarons were very inviting... We just couldn't take our eyes off those colorful treats.

Chez Karine Macarons (Php 50)

Finally, we gave in and got all 7 flavors - pistachio, lemon (lemonade macaron), salted caramel, milk chocolate passionfruit, dark chocolate, earl grey, and strawberry.

Our favorites:
1. Earl Grey - not too sweet, with a hint of earl grey flavor, really good
2. Salted Caramel - tasted a bit like burnt caramel :)
3. Milk Chocolate Passionfruit (Chef Karen's favorite) - we loved the sweet and tangy passionfruit flavor
4. Dark Chocolate - MY favorite.

On my next visit, I'd definitely order at least one of their cakes :)

Strawberry Gourmandise (Php 135)
A Chez Karine bestseller.
I think it's like strawberry cream puff - only classier :p

Ambroisie (Php 225)
Another Chez Karine bestseller. I wanna know why.
I HAVE TO TRY THIS SOON
chocolate mousse, pistachio mousse, pistachio joconde, strawberry jam, chocolate biscuit.

Passionfruit Igloo (Php 195)
white chocolate mousse, passionfruit jelly, chocolate biscuit, flaky almond praline crust.

Chez Karine's Special Vanilla Ice Cream

I'll let you in on a little secret. Off the menu, Chez Karine has a special home-made vanilla ice cream that you can order for just Php 50/scoop. Those small black dots you see on the picture are actual crushed vanilla beans that gives the ice cream its distinct flavor :)

Chez Karine is also working on more flavors. Let's wait for the black sesame and peanut butter! I'm sure it'll be just as lovely! :)

WHEN IN MANILA and craving for Japanese and French desserts, go to CHEZ KARINE and be happy! :)

Galileo Enoteca Deli - Authentic Italian Restaurant in Eastwood, QC

Are you looking for that authentic Italian restaurant that serves real good Italian cuisine with the perfect homey ambiance? I suggest you try GALILEO ENOTECA DELI a hidden jewel in the middle of Eastwood, Quezon City.

Galileo Enoteca Deli's private function room

Galileo Enoteca Deli's "wine and dine" lounge area

Il Poggio, 100% Merlot | Formaggi and Salumi Misti

The merlot (Php 700) served to us was a young wine, perfect for appetizers like Vanessa's (owner) favorite assorted cold cuts (jamon serrano, salami picante, chorizo) and cheeses (asiago, pamigiano regiano, grana padano). I highly recommend this, especially if you just want to hang out and have a drink with friends.

Prosciutto and Melone (Php 450, 5 pcs)

Bruschettas (Php 285)

This was lovely - best bruschettas ever! I love the combination of garlic, tomato, basil and extra virgin olive oil with onion spice on top of the lightly toasted bread. Sooooo good!

Prosciutto and Salsiccia (Php 480)
Pomodoro, parma ham and Italian sausages

Penne Al Gorgonzola (Php 350)

Galileo Enoteca Deli has one of the yummiest creamy pasta. This is amazing - light and al dente, with blue cheese and parmesan. A must try!

Spaghetti Ai Frutti Di Mare (Php 390)

You may have this in red sauce but we had it in olive oil, which I think is better with all the fresh seafood mixed in - shrimp, squid, clam, mussels. Yummy!!!

Panfried Salmon (Php 450)
crunchy salmon with honey balsamic vinaigrette and buttered spinach

Cotoletta Alla Milanese (Php 400)
Juicy breaded chicken cutlet served with garden fresh salad and fried potatoes

Risotto Con Porcini Mushroom and Truffle Oil (Php 420)

This is a winner. Everybody on the table loved Galileo Enoteca's mushroom risotto. The cream of dried mushroom and pancetta was heavenly. I will definitely order this again and again and again.

Il Limone Shot (Php 150)

After a wonderful dinner, have a sweet limoncello shot - it's good for the digestion :)
