Kimukatsu: Extraordinary Katsu In Shangri-La Mall

“Not your ordinary Tonkatsu, this is KIMUKATSU”

Did you know that Kimukatsu is the only restaurant in the world that offers this extraordinary specialty?! 25 layers of mille-feuille katsu in seven delectable flavors.

Kimukatsu is the most popular pork cutlet restaurant in Japan making it a real hotspot for katsu lovers. The secret to Kimukatsu’s popularity is the combination of a crispy texture-rich batter surrounding a juicy and flavorful 25 layered select pork cutlet.

Only the highest quality of pork is used, which is sliced thin and stacked into 25 layers (yes, you read that right: 25), covered with fresh breadcrumbs and fried slowly in low temperature for 8 minutes. It is then set vertically for 2 minutes to steam, allowing heat to spread evenly inside. The whole process helps keep all the natural juices inside the layers and crispy batter, bringing out the maximum taste of Kimukatsu.

YUZU KOSHO (Php 430 / 130g)
This exotic flavor is a traditional Japanese taste of yuzu fruits and green chili pepper.
I love how the saltiness is combined with a bit of sour and a kick of spice! YUM!

UME SHISO (Php 430 / 130g)
Another favorite of mine but I am guessing that this is an acquired taste to many.
Japanese sour plum and shiso leaf katsu is one of the most popular flavors amongst females in Japan.

If dining with a group, Kimukatsu offers suitable assorted set menus where you can try multiple flavors with your friends, colleagues and family :)

For take-home snacks and “baon” for work/school, I highly recommend Kimukatsu’s sandwich – Kimukatsu covered in tonkatsu sauce imported from Japan and served between fresh white bread. The box container is so cute that kids will definitely look forward in eating what’s inside.

Side menus and desserts are equally as good
