Mai Yai Thai Restaurant is a MUST in Kota Kinabalu

Dining in Mai Yai Thai Restaurant is a MUST in Kota Kinabalu!

Located in Waterfront, it is a good 5 minutes drive from our hotel.

It is best to come before sunset and reserve the table by the sea.

We ordered our drinks first:

Yummy Thai Iced Tea (RM 7.50) - not too sweet :)

Tiger Beer (RM 11.00) - REFRESHINGLY GOOD!

Lychee Shake (RM 12.00) - another great drink!

Here comes the mouth watering food that we will never ever forget for the rest of our lives...

 

Kaow Ob Sapparod *Chicken* - Pineapple Fried Rice with vegetables and cashew nuts served in Pineapple (RM 22.90)

This was an instant hit! I never like pineapple fruit combined with my food but this was an exception!!!

Phad Thai *Seafood* - Thai Style Fried Noodle with crushed peanuts, vegetables and tamarind sauce (RM 21.90)

Tom Yam Wun Sen *Seafood* - Glass noodle in Spicy and Sour Tom Yam Soup (RM 21.90)
There were too much meat than the soup... but you can ask for more soup from the waiter :)

As of this moment, we were officially in love with MAI YAI THAI ORCHID RESTAURANT!

Thai PANAENG *Beef* Curry with Coconut Milk (RM 23.90)

This was perfect with the pineapple fried rice. 

The flavours were just bursting in our mouths!

Poo Pong Kari - Thai Special Yellow Curry Fried Crab with Vegetables (RM 30.90)

The crab may not be big but it was still heavenly as we break through ALL the chambers of the crab!

What a way to end the day!
