Esprimere: Italian Comfort Food in Ortigas

We found a cozy little deli serving authentic Italian comfort food in Pearl Drive, Ortigas, just behind Starbucks.

Esprimere also sells Italian Wines at very affordable prices

Aside from regular Italian wines, Esprimere also serves Italian wine coolers, which seems to be perfect with appetizers.

If you've attended The Landmark Forum, you will recognize that this is the "possibility" created by four friends - JM Aujero, Noelle Aujero, Jet Mathay and Jewel Yang. The team's dream is now realized for us to enjoy.

Prosciutto e Mozzarella (Php 250)
A very light salad that has a bit of everything in it - basil leaves, fresh tomatoes, greens, chewy mozzarella and tasty prosciutto.

Aglio Olio (Php 150)

In Esprimere, you have the freedom to choose which pasta you like - spaghetti, linguine, fettuccine, angel hair, fusilli, farfalle or penne.

Carbonara (Php 250)

Did you know that traditional Italian carbonara doesn't have cream in it?! That's the way Esprimere serves it - as authentic as it can be - NO CREAM, just with pancetta (bacon), salt and pepper, cheese and egg. It was soooo good!!!

Napolitana Pizza (Php 230)
capers, tomato, cheese

Esprimere's pizzas are made from scratch using fresh dough  and then baked in their brick-oven. You are assured that their  thin crust pizzas are "healthy" and not oily :p

Bianco e Verde (Php 250)
White and Green - gorgonzola, basil, parmesan, mozzarella

The Bianco e Verde was more like a cheese pizza with hints of basil. It was also good but I loved the Napolitana more because of the contrasting taste of the capers and tomatoes :)

Porchetta Roast Platter (Php 270)

The Italian roast pork was very tasty so we had to ask how they do it and then we learned that the secret is in the marination. Esprimere marinades the pork for 3-5 days!!!

Porchetta Mozzarella Ravioli with Pomodoro Sauce (Php 230)

Gorgonzola Pasta (Php 250)

Prosciutto add-on (Php 50)

We tried 2 more pastas before our tummies surrendered. The ravioli and the sauce was wonderful - I could eat the whole plate (but of course I shared). And the gorgonzola pasta was just amazing, especially when we added a plate of prosciutto for more flavor. Esprimere definitely marked a special place in our palates and hearts :)

Capping off our Italian food frenzy that night was a shot of limoncello to aid our digestion :p

WHEN IN MANILA, go to ESPRIMERE ITALIAN DELI and have an authentic Italian meal. Wine and dine without worrying about the bill because they are really affordable :)
