"Sourced from the 1944 novel by Margaret Landon’s chronicle of Anna Leonowens memoirs, as she was chosen to become governess to King Mongkut of Siam’s many children in the early 1860’s, The King and I tells the travails of a British schoolteacher and her life in a foreign land, marred by conflict and an unexpressed love for the King."

Lady Thiang, the King's head wife, convinces Anna that the King is a wonderful man who needs love and is deserving of support.

Anna explained the Western way of courtship, and what it's like for a woman at a formal dance. King Mongkut demands that Anna should teach him the dance.

The "Shall We Dance?" act is the window of connection where they saw each other as normal people trying to just "connect." 


Suddenly, out of nowhere, came this "elephant" -  it was beautiful :) You might just be lucky and catch the royal elephant wandering the Newport Mall area *wink*
