Japanese Restaurants in Resorts World Manila: MR. KUROSAWA in Newport Mall is serving Euro-Japanese Fusion Food

Japanese Restaurants in Resorts World Manila: MR. KUROSAWA in Newport Mall is serving Euro-Japanese Fusion Food

"Mr. Kurosawa Euro-Japanese hits its 3rd year of operations (for the Eastwood branch) and 2nd year (for the Resorts World Manila branch)."

"Inspired by the late Japanese director Akira Kurosawa, the flagship restaurant opened last February 12, 2009 at the ground floor of the Eastwood Mall, Libis, Quezon City, promising a new concept in fusion restaurant dining which is a notch higher than what the founders had done before – Japanese cuisine with a touch of European flair."

"The concept doesn't end with the food itself, but with the whole package of the restaurant, as it is completely true to what it promises to be. The bold architectural design of the interiors that generates hip ambiance and chic atmosphere exhibited through red velvet curtains, dark furniture and orange bricked walls which are pretty much very European, with stark accents of purple and red through the unlikely combined chopsticks-inspired wall design, the cleverly designed backlit posters hanging on the ceiling with animal skin patterns as displays that are very contemporary mixed up with classic samurai and geisha graphics, the wide mirrors giving a spacious illusion to the place, and the music that has touches of the sound of the Tokyo Fashion District, make the diners feel the amazing clash of the east and the west." The interior and the ambiance makes Mr. Kurosawa Japanese Restaurant a great party place for friends and family :)

"Mr. Kurosawa has found an extension of its home, the 2nd Floor of Newport Mall, Resorts World Manila, Pasay City. The people behind it promise to give more of what it had given before more than what is only seen by the eyes – excellent food, unparalleled value for money and passion for outstanding service."

"Set to raise the bar this year, the 3 chefs behind the success of Mr. Kurosawa are ready to serve you 3 new items this first quarter of the year:"

KATSU
1. Fish Katsu (Php 268)
2. Shrimp Katsu (Php 398)
3. Ebi Katsu with Wasabi Mango Mayo (Php 398)
4. Tonkatsu or Torikatsu (Php 288)

BUBBLE MILK TEA

1. Red Angel or Sakura (Strawberry Yakult Milk Tea)
2. White Forest or Sanjuru (Winter Melon Milk Tea)
3. Rhapsody in Spring or Yojimbo (Matcha Milk Tea)

CHICKEN

1. Last Samurai Chicken Wings (Php 298)

FISH KATSU (Php 268)
Fish lovers will love this fried dory - crispy on the outside, juicy inside!
It comes with fries, salad and spicy ebiko mayo.

SHRIMP KATSU or EBI SINJU (Php 398)
The shrimp pancakes come in 5 pcs.
I just love how they made the patties with the mix of chopped shrimps, veggies and bread crumbs.
The chili plum sauce is the perfect partner! :)
super yummy!!!

EBI FRY or EBI KATSU with WASABI MANGO MAYO (Php 398)
This dish comes with 5 pcs of fried shrimps.
It was like eating huge "camarons."
It was so crunchy that I ate all part of it - even the tail!
The sauce was surprisingly NOT spicy.
It tasted more like MANGO MAYO with a hint of wasabi :)
(perfectly safe for kids)

TONKATSU (Pork Katsu - Php 288)
or
TORIKATSU (Chicken Katsu - Php 288)
The tonkatsu-torikatsu dish is served with a 3-way sauce:
spicy ebiko mayo, tonkatsu sauce, wasabi mayo
I tried the pork and chicken, which are both good but the torikatsu made a more lasting impression on me.
The breading was fried to a golden brown finish, locking all the juice of the chicken fillet in.
FYI, this is served with Japanese coleslaw salad and  rice (plain gohan or Japanese fried rice)

TIP: Mix the ebiko mayo and tonkatsu sauce. Dunk the katsu.
Eat and enjoy!

(Left to Right) Sanjuru, Sakura, Yojimbo
(Regular Php 65-70; Large Php 95-100)
All drinks come with chewy sago (tapioca)
and cut crytals (nata de coco)

SANJURU or WinterMelon Milk Tea
This is Assam Black Tea mixed with powdered milk and sugar syrup.
Mildly sweet. Very refreshing!

Sakura or Strawberry Yakult Milk Tea
The sweet smell of strawberries brought delight to my senses.
The strawberry iced tea was carefully blended with Assam black tea and yakult which gave it a sweet tangy taste.
YUMMY to the last drop.

Yojimbo or Matcha Milk Tea
Imagine green tea ice cream with red beans put together in a drink.. yep! That's Yojimbo!

LAST SAMURAI CHICKEN WINGS (Php 298)
Think Japanese Chicken Bonchon!!!
Four HUGE yummy chicken wings were deep-fried in a special sauce, dipped in corn syrup and Korean sauce with peanuts on top.
This was the favorite among the group! ♥♥♥
It's amazing how the chickens stay crunchy even after an hour :)

THINGS TO DO IN THE PHILIPPINES: THE MIND MUSEUM in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig is the first world class Science Museum in the Philippines

Last Feb 21, 2012, we went to the sneak preview of THE MIND MUSEUM in Taguig, hosted by SONY PHILIPPINES. It was really nice to know that SONY has a global campaign of helping the young generation understand science and technology more.

SONY partnered with THE MIND MUSEUM to bring Science to life with the use of the latest Sony technologies and gadgets (VAIO touch screen TVs, Bravia LCD Television units, etc) Watch Science come alive as you walk and explore the museum.

This is really fun - just like the tunnels in "fun houses"

Sit or lay down near the projector inside the planetarium for a better view :)

Have you discovered what our 5th taste is?
It's UMAMI - meaty flavor.

Life-size puzzles

Don't forget to take a photo in the SHADOW BOX :)

FUERZA BRUTA is finally here in Manila, Philippines

FUERZA BRUTA is finally here in Manila, Philippines!

(official photo of FUERZA BRUTA)

"Fuerza Bruta means "Brute Force." It is an interactive theatrical experience with  non-stop collision of dynamic music, visceral emotion, and kinetic aerial imagery that originated in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2005."
- Fuerza Bruta

"Breaking free from the confines of spoken language and theatrical convention, Fuerza Bruta is an event where worlds collide and reality takes a back seat. At show time, audiences are engulfed in a 360-degree spectacle featuring mind-blowing visual effects within inches of the audience that must be seen to be believed - a man running full throttle on a giant treadmill, bursting through a series of moving walls; " - Fuerza Bruta

"....tumbling performers suspended in mid-air; beautiful dancers in a clear pool overhead. " - Fuerza Bruta

"Audiences are urged not just to watch, but also shout, spin, touch and even help the cast smash things— an interactive live event that makes the usual night out dull in comparison.- FUERZA BRUTA

The premier night at the Manila Hotel Tent was a huge success! :)

FUERZA BRUTA reminded me that in life,

just like the Energizer Bunny,

we just have to KEEP ON GOING and HAVE FUN! :)

Celebrities, VIPs, press, bloggers, couples on a date and everyone else had a wild Valentine's Party :)
